Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

8 April 2011

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.

"These types of items being sold, usually online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
